Brothers,

I’m writing to share an update from the alumni board for Eta Chapter.

First, the bad news. At the end of the semester, the chapter dissolved, and the National Headquarters officially disaffiliated the group. Hindsight is 20/20, but suffice to say, our next step is to rent the house and to regroup when the time is right. The good news is that, while the house was left messy, it was not damaged.

We are actively working with our realtors at Coldwell Banker, intending to rent the house. As you know, students make rental decisions in the fall. Our focus is to rent as quickly as possible, but we realize that might not be effective until August of 2025. We will keep you apprised.

For those who are able to chip in to support our annual fund, whether a few hundred or a few thousand, we gratefully acknowledge your support and dedication to help us cover the operating costs between now and getting the house rented.

Homecoming: Several have asked about Homecoming this fall. It takes place on Saturday, September 14, 2024. The game time as of now is 11:00 a.m. We will plan to have a very causal continental breakfast with the annual alumni meeting from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. For those alumni staying in town and able to enjoy some camaraderie at the house, we will plan to have a 2:00 p.m. late lunch there.

While it has been and continues to be a rough patch for Eta, I think we can all be pleased that ΚΔΡ continues to thrive nationally. Our new executive director, Xavier Romano, has passed his first-year milestone, and the staff is principally focused on expansion and growth. In the last year, they have re-chartered Gamma Beta at Virginia Tech, recolonized Sigma Beta at Clemson and Chi Beta at the University of Charleston, and have groups of intent at Lambda at Cal Berkeley and Rho at Lafayette. Our fellow conference chapters at Indiana, Purdue, and Ohio State are all thriving. Headquarters reminds us it’s about timing and support, but our day is coming.

If you plan to attend Homecoming, please let me know by e-mail at [email protected]. This will really help us plan for food and refreshments. You can also register online.

Fraternally,
